The first sermon was preached in Acts 2. The Apostle Peter proclaimed the good news that Jesus fulfilled all the
prophecies of the Messiah. Through his death and resurrection, he now offers life to all people who are call on His
name through obedience (Acts 2:38).
The local congregation of the church was organized in September 2001.
The South Bypass congregatoin began meeting in the Northwest Georgia Trade and Convention Center in Dalton. The congregation
began with no money and no permanent place to meet, and not knowing who would teach or preach from Sunday to Sunday.
Soon a more suitable meeting place was found on Cleveland Hwy. We were blessed with a great preacher, Roger MacKenzie.
Brother Murphy Stanley then donated 20 acres, of prime property on the South Bypass. Due to his generosity
and the longtime dream of he and his late wife, Imogene, the congregation is blessed today. Because of God working through
the Stanleys and others we are able to worship and serve in a beautiful meeting house.
God continues to bless
us as we look to Him for guidance through His Word.
Looking back, God taught us that lasting good comes
from seeking truth. Honor is given to our Heavenly Father for His loving care.
With each challenge
we have encountered, we became stronger in our faith.
We invite you to become a part of the church today and a
piece of its history tomorrow.
