WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT THE CHURCH
The church of Christ here has many
great and admirable qualities. As the outreach minister for the congregation, I am proud to serve and worship
with this fine collection of Christians. We are eager to see our bright future. Let’s
notice just a few things that make the congregation great.
A Deep Respect of Biblical Authority
Today’s world often offers anything but respect. Since the world began, people have seen fit
to rebel against whatever authority was present. Adam and Eve were the original rebels.
They knew what God’s law was, but they rejected it and Him. Noah was a man who respected God
and tried to obey His commands. When you visit members of the Lord’s church you will find people
who respect God and His authority. We show this by worshiping “with reverence and Godly fear”, and by “holding to the pattern” which God has delivered in the NT. When we practice these things, we
are showing respect to God and His will.
A Love for Each Member
The church here is a family. We care for one another like a family should. The
command to “love one another”, in 1 John 4:7, is exemplified throughout the congregation. This
love for one another is demonstrated by the care that is shown to each member through struggles and trials. Paul
commanded the Philippians to “rejoice in the Lord.” The church here proves herself to be a great place for families
to grow closer together and closer to God.
A True Concern for the Lost
Another great quality which the congregation here has is a deep concern for the lost. Almost every
prayer uttered in the public assembly mentions efforts to spread the Kingdom to those who do not know Christ.
This evangelistic attitude is part of what makes up a growing and active congregation. Jesus commanded
that we have this attitude in the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19-20. He said, “Go ye therefore
and make disciples.” We are trying to do that here at the church of Christ at South Bypass.
We are truly thankful for all that God has done for us, and we want to share these blessings with others.
We would love for you to be a part of our church
family!
